Draft Bylaws Presentation, Discussion and Vote
6:30 PM Wednesday, April 15th, 2026
At École Beausejour Early Years School
Please mark your calendars and plan to attend!
Bylaws are rules that an organization or local creates to regulate how it operates. They act like internal laws for a group or organization.
Organizational Bylaws
Organizations (nonprofits, clubs, companies, etc.) use bylaws to define how the organization is run. They typically include:
- How leaders are elected
- Roles of officers (president, treasurer, etc.)
- How funds are spent
- Voting procedures
- How meetings work
- Membership rules
- Committees
Think of them as the operating manual for the organization. CUPE Locals Bylaws must be in accordance with the CUPE National Constitution. Any additions, omissions, or amendments must be approved by the membership and also by CUPE National. We need CUPE 1618 members to attend for this very important vote!
