An announcement from our President

Good morning!
I just wanted to let everyone know that our Recording Secretary Elaine
Koltalo, has resigned her position for personal reasons as of April 30th,
2026. We understand, wish Elaine all the best, and thank her for her years
of service to our local. According to our Bylaws: The Executive Board shall
have the authority to fill vacancies on the Board on an interim basis until an
election can be held in accordance with the Local’s Election Bylaws.
At this time, I am pleased to announce that Lisa Jackson has kindly agreed
to take on the role of Interim Recording Secretary for May and June, until
our annual general meeting and elections of officers takes place. A majority
vote was done by our Executive Board in filling this position. Lisa has been
recommended on the interim because our Local has previously invested
funds in sending Lisa on the week long CUPE Summer School (2024)
giving her extra in depth and meaningful union training. Also, she has
served as a past Shop Steward on our Executive Committee and most
recently proved to be a valuable member the on Bargaining and Bylaws
Committees. Welcome Lisa and thank you so much for helping us out at
this time!
